Center for Appalachian Studies holds winter coat drive through August 4

BOONE, N.C. — In an ongoing partnership with the University of the Free State in South Africa, Appalachian State University's Center for Appalachian Studies is requesting donations of new or gently used winter coats and jackets to support communities in the Maloti-Drakensberg mountains in South Africa.

The Center is accepting items now through August 4, 2025. Donations can be dropped off at the Center for Appalachian Studies office, located on the first floor of the Living Learning Center Academic Building at 305 Bodenheimer Drive in Boone, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
